CES LAUNCHED - LINGAP IGNACIA INITIATIVES

What a fitting time to launch Community Extension Service Initiatives as LINGAP IGNACIA last August 15. This was the very title of our Lady chosen by the Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo as an expression of her closeness to our Lady of Assumption. It was for the reason that Mama Mary lived her yes to the will of the Father in words and deeds with constancy and fidelity. This was what Mo. Ignacia del Espiritu Santo and her sisters hoped for and what Marians hoped too.!

LINGAP – IGNACIA shall be the official name of SMA-P’s Institutional CES Initiatives, Faculty’s Reach-out Activities, Marians’ Club Interactive Drives, SMAPAs’ & Alumni s’ Medical and Dental Services.It is because SMA-P promotes the legacy of Mo. Ignacia del Espiritu Santo to us, to church and society. We want her spirit to live on right here, right now.

As a legacy, Mother Ignacia del Espiritu and her “beatas” opened their services at Intramuros, Manila through teaching and catechizing young children and accepting them as boarders. Children were taught to pray, read and write and do household work. Everyone was welcomed in her school – Spanish and Chinese children and mestizas of both races but especially the Yndias or the Filipinas who were poor and underprivileged at that time.

So, whenever SMA-P renders an hour or more out of the 24 hours God has given in a day, SMA-P shall call this as . . Lingap Ignacia. When Club Moderators integrate JPIC in their club activities . . . its Lingap Ignacia. When Teachers address advocacy concerns in instruction and involve students to extend community service . . Lingap Ignacia. Hence, all concerted efforts in advocating church and community service shall be called “LINGAP IGNACIA.”
